Cancellation Policy, just in case…
SME cannot make exceptions to these cancellation policies for any reason, including personal emergencies and weather. There is no refund for leaving early or arriving late.
All cancellations must be received in writing.
If notice is received more than ten weeks prior to the starting date:*
- If you find an alternative date of the same season at the Durrand Glacier Chalet, then we are happy to rebook your reservation and transfer all paid money less a $150.00 Cnd. service charge per person.
- Full refund, less $200.00 Cnd. per person for summer trips
- Full refund, less $310.00 Cnd. per person for winter 2023 trips and less $400.00 Cnd. per person for winter 2024 trips
If notice is received less than ten weeks prior to the starting date:
- If you find an alternative date of the same season at the Durrand Glacier Chalet, then we are happy to rebook your reservation and transfer all paid money less:
- A service charge of $150.00 Cnd. per person for cancellation received between 8-10 weeks prior to trip.
- A service charge of $200.00 Cnd. per person for cancellation received between 4-7 weeks prior to trip.
- A service charge of $300.00 Cnd. per person for cancellation received less than 4 weeks prior to trip.
- 100% non-refundable.
* Note: All Europe ski trips require a non-refundable deposit at time of booking.
SME CANCELLATIONS:
- If SME has to cancel a program (Canada or Europe) for reasons that are IN our control then SME will either (at the companies discretion) do one of the following:
- All paid money will be refunded to the guest
- Or the paid money will be transferred to a similar program within the next 12 months
- If a program (Canada or Europe) cannot be offered or executed due to “an act of God” (earthquake, volcano eruption, health pandemic, border closures, airline strikes etc.) then:
- The paid money, less the deposit, will be refunded to the guest
- The paid money, less a minimum handling fee of $300 or up to the deposit (depending on the amount of prepaid expenses SME has incurred), will be moved to another program of a similar nature within the next 12 months.
Trip Cancellation Insurance
We strongly recommend that you purchase cancellation insurance. Cancellation insurance must be purchased simultaneously when booking your program with SME. We also suggest that you have adequate medical and life insurance.
All final trip payments, once taken are nonrefundable, please be aware if you decline to take out insurance, Selkirk Mountain Experience is not responsible for finding a replacement for your reservation or to refund any payments taken.
We strongly recommend that you contact Wanetta or Olivia of Uniglobe Specialty Travel regarding trip cancelation/interruption travel insurance.
Some of the highlights of coverage are for cancelation due to unexpected illness/injury to you or anyone in your immediate family, key employee, travel partner. Interruption coverage includes unexpected injury or sickness while on your trip or scheduled air delays, road closures due to avalanche or traffic accident that would prevent you from getting to or leaving your adventure. Emergency Medical includes air evacuation and customary medical care while in Canada.

Selkirk Mountain Experience does not take any responsibility if you miss your trip out for any reason including, but not limited to, missed flights, delayed flights, canceled flights, road closures or not getting through customs in Canada, as well as personal and business issues.
For ALL Guests:
To ensure a quality ski-trip for the SME ski-guests who have signed up directly with SME, and for liability reasons, Selkirk Mountain Experience doesn’t allow guests who cancel their ski trip with SME to sell their trip through any Internet site. Guests who cancel their trip and sell it to another skier are responsible for that skier and must have personal experience with the ability level of the skier to whom they sell their spot.
