How to get to Revelstoke in winter

Driving

If you drive, make sure you allow enough time to deal with possible highway closures.

From Calgary:
  • 410 km, 5 hours in good driving conditions, follow Hwy 1 west.
  • Possible traffic issues on Kickinghorse Canyon east of Golden and Rogers Pass between Golden and Revelstoke.
  • During snow storms the possibility for highway closures is likely. Avalanche control or traffic accidents.
From Vancouver:
  • 565 km, 6 ½ hours in good driving conditions, follow Hwy 1 and Coquihalla Highway towards east.
  • Possible traffic issues at the Coquihalla Highway and between Revelstoke and Sicamous.
  • During snow storms the possibility for highway closures is possible. Avalanche control or traffic accidents.
From Kelowna Airport:
  • 186 km, 2 ½ hours in most driving conditions, follow Hwy 97 North to Sicamous and from there Hwy 1 towards east.
  • Possible traffic issues between Sicamous and Revelstoke.
  • During snow storms the possibility for highway closures is rare. Avalanche control or traffic accidents.
Flying: From the USA or Canada:
  • USA, fly via Seattle with Horizon Air to Kelowna BC.
  • USA and Canada, fly via Vancouver or Calgary with Air Canada or WestJet to Kelowna.
  • From the Kelowna Airport get a ride with the Stoke Shuttle to Revelstoke, reservations needed.

If you are a group of 3 or more, then renting a car is the best option, less expensive than the Stoke Shuttle.

If you plan to fly to Calgary and rent a car, make sure that you give yourself enough travel time, keeping possible road closures in mind.

You might want to ski one or two days at the 1750 vertical meter ski area in Revelstoke, prior your ski trip with us. From Europe:
  • Fly via Frankfurt or London to Calgary or Vancouver (Canada). From either of these airports board a connecting flight to Kelowna BC, with Air Canada.
  • From the Kelowna Airport get a ride with the Stoke Shuttle to Revelstoke, reservations needed.

If you are a group of 3 or more, then renting a car is the best option, less expensive than the Stoke Shuttle.

If your plannned final flight destination is Calgary you will need to rent a car. Please make sure that you give yourself enough travel time.

We recommend guests from Europe arrive in Revelstoke two days prior your ski-touring trip with Selkirk Mountain Experience. This will give you a chance to overcome jet-lag.
